Ted Schillinger has developed, written, directed, and nursed to completion more than 100 hours of documentary film. A recipient of a Midwest Emmy for his history of the Chicago Tribune, Ted has also won the James Beard Award for Best Television Food Journalism for “AMERICAN EATS,” a historical look at American eating habits, which aired on The History Channel. The two-hour special spawned two successful sequels and a series.
Some of Ted’s other subjects include: the scientific fight against autism, the chronicles of Las Vegas’s greatest casino cheats, and the life and crimes of legendary gangster Meyer Lansky. Ted is presently finishing a feature documentary profiling one of the country’s most pre-eminent crusaders for the death penalty.
In Ted’s spare time, he likes to read, write and cook, even though he should really be outside enjoying the beautiful weather.
Ted is a graduate of Yale University.
